Ruth Barbossa was married to Harald Barbossa, one of the most feared pirates in the Seven Seas. He abandoned her when she was pregnant with her son. After the death of his mother, Barbossa left home to seek out something else. He would eventually meet Arabella James and they would have a daughter together whom Hector would name after his mother.
